Description
FireWire Port Isolator
The FireWire Port Isolator takes the 5V of power wire out of normal Firewire cables.  Freely plug in your cameras and hard drives without a fear of blowing them ever again.  This cable does not pass bus power.  So, it eliminates the possibility of a computer sending too much power, or an accidental reversal of polarity.

Why would I need this?
It also prevents unwanted electronic noise when daisy chaining FireWire devices together.  This can be critical in AV equipment when frames drop, or you have audio blips because of cable problems.

Compatible with FireWire devices
it doesn't matter what brand, make or model your FireWire device is, as long as it's a standard 6pin, it works.
